Come early next year of 2014, TRX RV will have a new home in the province’s first recreational vehicle (RV) mall. The Oak Centre RV mall will be located in the city of Martensville, in the new Northlands Business park. In addition to being the new home to TRX RV, it will also be the home to Truck Camper Canada.
They have secured 34 acres in total, the main anchor of the RV Mall being a 20,000 square-foot building. The entire mall will house a 23,000-square-foot indoor campground that will allow people to see the trailers on display in the way that they would be used. There will also be a set of camp sites outside that will be for the use of customers who are picking up a unit and want to try it out over night for no charge. Mall lots are available for purchase by any RV-related business, including dealerships that handle RVs, boats, snowmobiles, quads and motorcyles, RV repair shops, or RV cleaning and oil change services. . . read more!
We are Saskatchewan's premiere new and used RV dealership. Based in Saskatoon, we sell campers, travel trailers, motor homes and 5th wheels to customers across Canada. Best price, best selection guaranteed.

Some Helpful Tips in Winterizing Your RV - A DIY Guide!
Reblogged from TRX RV!
Winterizing your water system
Drain the fresh water tank by opening the water tank drain. Leave drain open.
Drain the water heater by opening the drain valve at the bottom of the heater, and opening the pressure relief valve.
Close the water heater drain and pressure relief valve
If your trailer is equipped with a water heater bypass valve, turn water heater bypass valve(s) to the bypass position. If not, install a temporary bypass by disconnecting the water lines from the back of the water heater and joining them together with a water line and fittings
If the trailer is equipped with a water purifier, remove the cartridge
Disconnect water pump suction hose from pump, and run another hose from the pump directly to the antifreeze container. BE SURE TO USE ONLY NON-TOXIC RV ANTIFREEZE. . . continue!

RV Slideouts
Reblogged on TRX RV!
The Slideout RV is most desirable because it does not give that notorious cramped feeling that comes with other RVs. A Slideout RV is great, while being parked for long stays. However, there are some people who would find the Slideout to be tedious.
While this RV style is great for the persons who enjoying hanging about, it can be quite tedious for people who tend to be on the road more frequently. The nature of the Slideout RV is that when you are parked there is more room to move about and spend time with friends and family, but when off the road, slideouts are sucked back in creating a tight space where it can be difficult to get from one end of the RV to the other. In this case the Slideout RV style might not be best suitable for that mobile RV’r.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact TRX RV at www.trxrv.ca/contact!

Are We There Yet?
Reblogged from TRX RV!
The question that marks the beginning of the end of your kids attention spans on long road trips. What they are really saying is “I know we’re not there yet but I’m bored”. Here are 10 ideas for kids road trip games that will relieve their boredom and give you a (hopefully) more peaceful drive.
1. I-Spy
“I spy with my little eye…” A great game as it only requires your imagination, leaving you with a lot more space in the vehicle for necessities.
2. License Plate Bingo
A road trip spin on bingo! Before you leave, print out bingo cards with different province license plates and bring something to mark them with. If you want to get really fancy, you could laminate them and bring dry erase markers to make them re-usable. The keep the kids attention for even longer, bring prizes.
3. Name Game
Start with a category like cartoons or celebrities, and then someone starts it off with a name, say Taylor Swift. The next person has to name a celebrity with a name that starts with S (the first letter of the last celebrity’s last name). This has the potential to go on for a really long time, so try to keep it going!
4. Collaborative Story
One person start the story, and the next person continues after a few lines.
5. 20 Questions
The classic 20 questions. A good go-to when you’re in need of fun game that lasts a while. To add a twist to the game, make a rule where one word can’t be said – if someone says that word their question is null.
6. Books On Tape
Not a game but just as effective! Take some requests before you leave home. Listening to stories is always a good option… especially because it often leads to sleeping.
7. Puppet Show
This one requires some supplies but would consume most of the trip.
Step 1: Bring puppet materials. Step 2: Let your kids go to town on fancy puppets. Step 3: Tell them to create a puppet show with their new puppets. Step 4: Enjoy the show!
8. Colour Safari
Pick a colour and name all items you see in that colour.
9. The Alphabet Game
This is a fun collaborative game. Start at the end or the beginning, and then as you drive everyone has to look for a sign that starts with A and then B and so on, all the way to z.
10. Map Game
The best game by far to stop the “are we there yet” question from coming up. What you do: Go through your route and print out different signs that you’d be passing (town names, etc.). Mix them up and give the same number of signs to each kid. Also give them a larger map with the starting and ending point. When they see the sign, whoever has it will shout it out and they can plot it out on the map.
They know exactly how far there is to go, but are also distracted by finding the signs!

The Top 25 Campsites in Canada
Park yourself at one of these prime destinations for the perfect summer escape
1. Pacific Rim National Park, B.C.
Green Point Campground
The main draw: Long Beach is the ultimate Pacific experience—22 kilometres of sand with a horizon that disappears into the ocean. Green Point marks the lone campground along its length. The campsites here sit on a ledge above the beach, close enough to the ocean that the sound of surf lulls campers to sleep. A short path descends to the sand. Most of the 113 sites are drive-in but there are 18 walk-in spots that are somewhat secluded.
Things to do: Start by exploring the beach. Walk or run in either direction and scan the flotsam for beach booty. Of course, you can also go for a swim, but be aware that the water is about 10°C. If you’re into surfing, there are almost always waves at Long Beach, but if you’re looking for more serious action, or lessons, you can head 20 minutes north to the town of Tofino. Grey whales spend the summer in the waters just offshore, and one of the best places to see them is at the Amphitrite Lighthouse in the town of Uclulelet, about 20 minutes south of the campground.
Nugget: You can turn a one-way stroll along the beach into a loop by catching the Tofino Bus (tofinobus.com) back to the campground.
More info: Parks Canada
2. Alice Lake Provincial Park, B.C.
Main Campground
The main draw: What this small park lacks in size it makes up for in location, sitting just north of Squamish—“Canada’s Outdoor Recreation Capital.” Campground paths link into the area’s world-class mountain-biking network. Nearby hiking is steep but spectacular with mountain-to-ocean views. And of course there’s the rock climbing that put Squamish on the map. When you get tired—and you will—hop in Alice Lake for a refreshing dip and then relax on the sandy beach.
Things to do: A good warm-up to Squamish mountain biking is Wonderland, a three-kilometre roller-coaster ride starting just outside the campground. Link it with Brackendale trails and Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit for an intermediate loop. Forgo hiking in the park itself for better trails a short drive away: the hike to the three summits of the Stawamus Chief, the trek to the alpine meadows on the way to Elfin Shelter, and the stiff but rewarding climb to Garibaldi Lake in Garibaldi Provincial Park. Get a feel for the local granite at the one-pitch-rich Smoke Bluffs climbing area before getting high on a Squamish multi-pitch classic, such as Snake or Diedre.
Nugget: Don’t miss Squamish’s Howe Sound Brewing (howesound.com), where you can sample seven local ales with a woodfire pizza.
More info: BC Parks
3. Cathedral Provincial Park, B.C.
Lake of the Woods Campground
The main draw: It takes a day of hiking to get to this campground at the centre of Cathedral Provincial Park, in the Cascade Mountains west of B.C.’s Okanagan, but the park’s interior is worth it: a subalpine plateau of fish-filled lakes, unique geology, alpine meadows and, most importantly, plenty of hikeable summits and ridges. Day hikes project like spokes on a wheel from the campground, which sits on a turquoise lake across from impressive granite walls.
Things to do: The best hike is the Cathedral Rim Trail, a highline loop along a series of ridges topping out at over 2,500 metres. The route passes some of the park’s best-known geologic formations, including Smokey the Bear, the Devil’s Woodpile and Stone City. The Lake-view Mountain Trail leads to the park’s high point and provides extensive views—on a clear day you can see Mount Rainier’s bulk, 300 kilometres away. Four of the park’s lakes were stocked with trout in the 1930s. Cast for trophy rainbows in Ladyslipper and cutthroats in Lake of the Woods.
Nugget: If you don’t feel like hiking in, you can arrange to hitch a ride to the centre of the park on a shuttle operated by Cathedral Lake Lodge (cathedrallakes.ca). Read More!

Thinking About Purchasing a Bunk Model - Tom Answer's
We were asked:
“Should we set out to buy a bunk model RV if the kids are currently in their teens? How much will we lose on depreciation if we trade in a few years?”
Lots of people ask for bunk model RVs and do end up trading them back a few years later for a conventional coach as children have grown up and choose not to travel with Mom & Dad. Why not start with the conventional coach now? Simply purchase an Add-A-Room that can be installed to follow your awning dimensions?...click here for more on Tom's answer!

Truck’s Saggy Suspension
We were asked:
“My wife pulls our 39′ Fifth Wheel with our 1986 Ford F-150. The suspension seems a bit saggy and the trailer wanders. Suggestions?”
Gee, can’t imagine why you’re having handling troubles!? In reality, pulling a trailer requires the proper equipment, concentration and practice especially if you have not had experience. For example, passing a semi-trailer unit can give you momentary handling problems. Over-steering to correct the initial sway can aggravate the situation until it becomes severe. Over braking will also exaggerate the sway, leading to a possible jack-knife. Read more >>

Taxes and Your RV Purchase – How it Works
We’ve been asked quite often:
“We have been led to believe by the experts on coffee row that there are taxes on all used RVs purchased at an RV dealership while on the other hand there are no taxes on a unit purchased privately on someone’s driveway. Is this true and if not, what are the tax implications on a used RV? I don’t like paying any more #*%# taxes than I have to.”
In the case of a private purchase you are required...read more >>

Is this true and if not, what are the tax implications on a used RV? I don’t like paying any more #*%# taxes than I have to.”
In the case of a private purchase you are required...read more >>

Best time to buy an RV? by TRX RV
We were asked:
“When is the best time to buy a new or used RV. Some friends have told us that there is a show sometime in January / February every year at the Prairieland Exhibition Trade Centre in Saskatoon – could you please tell us where to go?”
While it is true that three out of the dozen local RV dealers do offer inventory for sale for 10 to 12 days at that time, the deals simply go on and on at TRX RV. And I’ve heard they have a wide selection to choose from and are easy to get along with at TRX. Remember, a show such as the one that runs at Prairieland can cost the dealer plenty in overhead, and those $$ have to be recouped somehow, even while you are trying to buy from them. Normally, people choose whether they prefer to deal in the first half of the year before holidays or in the last half after they have seen new options while on holidays. There is no right or wrong time to deal.

Airstream In Canada
Airstream began with a single man and a most singular dream. The man was
Wally Byam: his dream, to build the perfect travel trailer. One that
would move like a stream of air. One that would be light enough to be
towed by a standard automobile. One that would provide first-class
living accommodations anywhere in the world. Thus, over 70 years ago was
born the first Airstream trailer. And with it was born yet another
dream, a dream of new freedom, new places, new experiences, and new
friendships. It was a dream so powerful, so enduring it did far more
than create a new way of travel; it created a new way of life shared by
thousands upon thousands of families. Read More >>

TOM’S TIPS - RV Sales Saskatoon
Think about this! TRX RV is the exclusive (and only) dealer for
Saskatoon and surrounding area for every one of the popular products
found at our store. Please, do not be misled by any supposed competitor
who may deceive consumers into believing they can also supply some of
the RVs that TRX carries. An RV dealer who is not an authorized supplier
must purchase his stock from some other retail dealer. When you pay
for one of these coaches, you become the 2nd owner. Consequently your
coach won’t have the factory warranty that is normally honored by any
dealer in your manufacturer’s North American dealer network. Also,
these coaches ARE NOT CSA certified. Doesn’t matter what they tell you –
they’re NOT. Will this matter to you? It could… if you sell your
coach and the subsequent owner has a tragic accident… such as a family
member succumbing to carbon monoxide since the safety package does not
conform to CSA (Canadian Standards). So, how do you know…? Read More >>
